Gifts and Gratitude

For Christmas this year, much to my surprise there were a few extra gifts that came in the post.
A small group of blogger's got together and each sent a gift to make my Christmas extra special.
It is such a thoughtful gesture, that really touched me, and bought home the spirit of Christmas caring and sharing. These four women made a significant difference to my Christmas this year. The first Christmas without my mother. They will always have a special place in my heart, and my gratitude for their caring and thoughtfulness.

These gifts will always be treasured

From Alison of Cardygirl.
A gorgeous Bareroots pattern, and a lovely tube of very nice hand cream.

From Peg of Happy in Quilting .
A wonderful Christmas stitchery with the cutest little mouse laying at the base of the pudding, and a quilted and embroidered journal & cover.

From Dale of DayDaysblog
A wonderful stitchery with "Celebrate life always" embroidered on it, and a stitchery kit, with embroidery, threads and fabrics. I can't wait to make it.

From Donna of Chookyblue
A calender of Donna's fantastic photo's for 2010. They are glorious pictures, and I will be thinking of her every time I look at the calender.

I know that I am a very lucky woman to receive all these amazing gifts. I want to say "Thank You" to Alison, Peg, Dale and Donna for all thinking of me at Christmas. They are all wonderful and very talented women. Thank You.

Wishing Everyone a wonderful 2010.
Hope you all have a great New Years Eve.

Glasses fixed!

My glasses got fixed yesterday. The very nice man in the optometrist shop, managed to quite skillfully weld them together and fix them. I am so thankful to have them back. No more eye strain!

I will be catching up with blogs, and posting some more very soon.

Thank You Secret Santa SSCS09

Thank You Loulee from Manxgirl for the lovely gifts you sent in the Secret Santa Christmas Swap.
I feel very spoilt.

A gorgeous hand embroidered bag, and a fruit and veg shopping bag.

Here is the back of the embroidered bag.

A very cute cupcake pin cushion, a Christmas pin cushion, a lavender clown, and a small bag, with fancy lace and pretty fabric flowers.

Four gorgeous pre-printed Tilda stitchery packs.
I am very blessed.

Thank you Loulee.

And many Thanks to Chookyblue for organising yet another fantastic Secret Santa Christmas Swap.

Oh dear

Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas.
Best Wishes to you all.

Unfortunately my glasses broke on Boxing Day. I have no idea how long they will take to get fixed, if they can be fixed at all. No glasses equals big eye strain, and not so much time spent online. I will be doing my browsing, and emailing in small chunks of time.

Vintage Christmas Carol Books

I love Christmas stories and books. So I thought I'd take a moment to share a few images of a couple that I have with you. As a child I used to love singing carols at school and with friends.

I have had this book since I was a small child. As you can see, its been well loved, and is still very treasured.

I found this next book in an Op-Shop a few years ago. Its full of carols and the most wonderful stories.

Do you have an old Christmas Carol books lurking on your bookshelf ?
Let me know if you do.

Only 1 more sleep to go.

May you all have a Joyous Christmas for 2009

SSCS and December's Moon

My SSCS arrived safely at its destination. And a package arrived for me for my swap partner Manxgirl with a gorgeous ornament. I can't wait for Christmas day to open the rest of it - but I will! I will take pictures of the onrament when we put out Christmas tree up.

Today my littlest one turns six! Its so exciting for us here. She has waited so long for her birthday to come around, and its finally here.

Here are a couple of shots of last nights moon. It was amazing, and lit up the whole sky. The stars were twinkling, and the moon was bright, it was just perfect.
